Nominal prizes are awarded annually to young scientists for significant achievements in the field of fundamental and applied research, experimental development and testing. Since 2006, this award has been named after the founder of Vector, academician Lev Stepanovich Sandakhchiev.

In 2024, the award was awarded to eight scientists of the State Scientific Center of Virology and Biotechnology "Vector": Head. Department of Genomic Research Dmitry Yudkin, M.Sc. of the Department of Biophysics and Environmental Research Anastasia Cheremiskina and researchers of the Department of Bioengineering Nadezhda Rudometova, Dmitry Shcherbakov, Natalia Volkova, Svetlana Belenkaya, Anastasia Isaeva and Julia Merkuleva.
